"Marooned" Casting
CrankLeft Films is casting "Marooned", a short independent film shooting in early March 2011. The film is a sci-fi/thriller with special effects, model work, costumes, and sets.
Who are you guys?
We are a group of film-makers who have done several short films and art pieces. We've been working on a script and planning for a short sci-fi/thriller picture for the past few months.
We are doing this on a tight budget and looking at doing real model and special effects work for a short film with Hollywood-quality production values.
Synopsis of Marooned:
Two men are adrift in their broken mining ship, out of food, out of air, and almost out of power when they encounter an unwanted visitor who is just as desperate as they are.
Seeking Actors/Actresses for Roles Including:

CAST:
Captain James Raimus(LEAD)
Approximately 40 years old. Male. Weathered. Somber. Dutiful.

CAST:
Lieutenant Simon Deeks (LEAD)
Late 20's. Male. Upbeat. Street smart. Determined. Risk taker.

EV (Robot computer voice) / Nurse
18 to 40 years old. Female. Prefer English accent. Voice work for the robot. Highly emotive and expressive language abilities.
Also, on-screen role as Nurse in a medical facility.

CAST:
Raimus' Parents
Male and female, age between late 30's and mid-50's. At least one of the couple must have darker hair and look somewhat like an
italian heritage. This is for a key flashback sequence with about 6 lines of dialogue which is key to the story arch and Raimus'
character.
* We need serious actors to really "sell" the more intense and emotional parts of the script. No pay due to tight budget but
you will be promoted on the CrankLeft website and receive a copy of the film as well as title credits. You will also appear in the making-of DVD.
