It's been a while since the last Muppet offering and slowly, but surely, details from the new puppet affair (simply titled 'The Muppets') are trickling in. Today we get a nice little treat: a few pics from the set. Click the photos for a much bigger version.
The Muppets will be directed by James Bobin (director of Flight of the Concords) from a script written by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller. Segel will also be playing the lead human role of Gary whose best friend, Walter (a new muppet voiced by Paul Rudd), has been described as “a sweet, slightly naive twenty-something Everypuppet who, in the movie, is the best friend and roommate of Segel’s character, Gary. Both Gary and Walter are die-hard Muppet fans.” Chris Cooper plays the evil Tex Richman, a crazy oil mogul who thinks he can smell the black gold beneath the Muppet studio.
Other notable cast members and cameos are Eric Stonestreet, John Krasinski, Ed Helms, Lady Gaga, Jack Black, Donald Glover, Jane Lynch as a prison guard, Danny Trejo as a prisoner, and Zach Galifianakis as Hobo Jo.
