Nick / Weston Cage panel (Comic-Con 2007)

Nick Cage and son, Weston Cage were on a panel to promote their new comic series "Voodoo Child." The story centers around a dead child who is "reborn" to solve strange supernatural "wrongs" that have occurred in the mystic underworld of New Orleans.
Weston seemed pretty happy to just be a part of the whole thing. He and Nick wrote the story and Virgin Comics assigned a writer and artist to do the book for them. Here are a few of the highlights:
- Nick said comic books are like "modern day cave paintings"
- A lot of the book is based on experiences and memories of the Cage's living in New Orleans and the voodoo culture there.
- On how he felt working with his son, Nick said that many of his film characters have been influenced by Weston's personality and he felt it was time to "give something back" to his son for all those creative ideas. (He couldn't go into detail on this when asked later so maybe it was just BS).
- Nick said the goal is to "go to script" with Saturn films for a Voodoo Child movie.
- The main character is interacial. Nick said "I felt like interacial was brave. I have not seen an interacial superhero before."
